sweet pea

i haven't posted for a while ... life has gotten in the way.
this pretty little sweet pea self-sowed from the pea straw i put down as mulch.
the vegetable garden now entirely consists of things that have self-sown.
the house hasn't sold, so i haven't had to move, but it's pending, so the garden has to fend for itself.
i'm really looking forward to living somewhere where it's worth my while to have a vegetable garden again...
i like growing (and eating) my own vegetables.

salem

salem is a beautiful cat.
he's the boyfriend of 'she who is second only to god'.
he is seven and his fur feels like velvet.

flowers in the pond

three poppies have flowered.
and a white waterlily.
the fish are fat and happy.

water poppies are cool.
like waterlilies they close at night and open for the day.

it opens during the day.
and closes at night.
the fish are happy.

orange is such a fabulous colour

nasturtiums and lemongrass.
i wish it would rain.
i want to live more sustainably.
